A pair of Portland chefs set to appear on Bravo’s ‘Top Chef’

cooking chef generic thinkPortland chefs Doug Adams from the Imperial restaurant at Hotel Lucia and Gregory Gourdet from the Departure restaurant at The Nines will appear on Bravo Media’s popular ‘Top Chef’ series.

Adams, 29, and Gourdet, 39, will appear on the 12th season in Boston, which premieres on Wednesday, Oct. 15 at 10 p.m. They will compete with chefs from all around the country for $125,000 provided by Healthy Choice, a feature in Food & Wine magazine, a showcase at the annual Food & Wine Classic in Aspen and the title of “Top Chef.”

Their work will be judged by Tom ColicchioGail Simmons and Hugh Acheson. Padma Lakshmi hosts the program. Richard Blais will make his debut as a recurring judge, offering guidance from a former competitor’s point of view.

The chefs will go knife-to-knife at iconic Boston places including Fenway Park, Plimoth Plantation and The Bull and Finch Pub, which served as the inspiration for the television program “Cheers” and where exterior shots for the show were filmed.
