Home prices show signs of stabilizing

Home prices showed signs of stabilizing in February as CoreLogic CoreLogic Latest from The Business Journals Follow this company reported a slowdown in price declines.

The Santa Ana, Calif.-based real estate research firm (NYSE: CLGX) said Wednesday its national index of U.S. home prices fell two percent in February compared to the prior year. Home prices have declined for seven consecutive months, but the pace is decreasing, said Mark Fleming, chief economist. “Excluding distressed sales, we already see modest price appreciation month over month in January and February.” For the Portland area including Vancouver, home prices declined three percent compared to one year ago.
