Oregon foreclosures plunge nearly 30%

The number of Oregon homes in some stage of foreclosure declined dramatically in the first quarter.

According to data from Irvine, Calif.-based RealtyTrac, 4,979 Oregon homeowners experienced some type of foreclosure activity in the first three months of 2012. That’s down 32 percent from the previous quarter and 29 percent from the same period a year ago, amounting to one in every 337 homes. Read more…
