Portland’s annual ZooLights at the Oregon Zoo seems to be getting bigger and better each year with 1.5 million lights twinkling on display in 2017. ZooLights is a Portland holiday must.
Portland’s Singing Christmas Tree
The Singing Christmas Tree has been a Pacific Northwest tradition for over 50 years. With a choir of over 300 people, it’s a spectacular event every year. Although it’s over for this year, the list wouldn’t be complete without it and something to put on the list for next year!
The largest light show in the region, the Portland International Raceway invites families and holiday light enthusiasts to come drive through over two hundred light displays. A great way to celebrate the holiday without having to walk around the chilly outside.
Christmas Ship Parade
Starting with a single boat in 1954, Portland has created a holiday celebration of its very own. These days between 50-60 boat owners design and decorate their vessels in holiday lights and travel the rivers for anyone along the banks who wishes to see. The Nutcracker is by no means a Portland specific holiday tradition, but it is good to the talented Oregon Ballet Theater performs this classic each years.
