Portland home prices sink in February, Maybe

Portland area home prices hit a new post-crisis low in February, retreating to levels comparable to July 2004 levels.

The S&P Case-Shiller Home Prices Indices, released Tuesday, showed nine cities, including both Portland and Seattle, posted new lows.

Portland home prices fell three percent compared to one year ago and 0.3 percent compared to January. A national composite of 20 metro areas fell 3.5 percent for the year and 0.8 percent compared to January. Read more…
