White House unveils mortgage-relief plan
WASHINGTON (MarketWatch) — The White House announced Tuesday that it was cutting the mortgage fees charged by the Federal Housing Administration’s refinancing program in another effort to help the languishing housing market.
An estimated 2 million to 3 million FHA borrowers will be eligible to benefit from the revamped program, the administration said.
In addition, the White House said it will conduct a review of how members of the military and veterans were treated during the financial crisis. If laws were broken, the military members would be able to seek compensation. Read more…
